Diesel particulate filter (DPF)
The filter collects soot particles and burns them off at high temperature at regular intervals; this is called regeneration. If the filter is blocked or damaged, the engine loses power or shows fault codes. After a DPF has been replaced, the soot load values in the control unit normally have to be reset. By its own assessment, rema.germany has one of the widest ranges of diesel particulate filters in Europe.
