Steering cylinder
On larger commercial vehicles the force of a single steering gear is often not enough, which is why a steering cylinder is fitted in addition. It assists the steering movement hydraulically and thereby relieves both the steering gear and the driver. Leaks or oil loss are the most frequent causes of failure.
